Generally, pretty darn good. Coffee, some dairy for coffee, salt, and
sometimes a little butter to cook with are my only usual departures from
"paleo." However, I have endulged in several departures over the past 3
months. BUT my arthritis pain predates those by a looong shot.
I had an interesting thing happen back in Sept., I think it was, when my
brother's dr recommended he go on the Zone diet. I was reading the Omega Rx
Zone and got a hankering for oatmeal, which I hadn't had in probably two
years or more. I had virtually NO pain the next morning. It was an
incredible difference. I scrambled to re-read and figure it had to do with
the GLA. At the time I had been taking high dose fish oil (4 gms EPA/DHA in
8gms of fish oil) since July. Maybe I had killed off too many of the good
eicosanoids. And then I had a series of immune issues, I think, with a
succession of illnesses, each about a month apart. I can't prove a
connection, but think maybe I had lowered my immune system with the fish
oil. I currently am taking 1-2 gms of fish oil/day and am wondering if
that's enough or too much. I laid off of it for a few weeks and couldn't
tell any difference in my arthritis pain.

Agreed. But I don't mind taking supplements, especially if faced with a
choice of taking prescription meds. Most supps have a far longer safety
record.

O+ but admit I'm skeptical of metabolic typing.
