Not the best thought-out subject.

I wonder what you all think about food choices and the way we think and
feel about our food - and defend our choices?

It seems to me that when I first tried a vegetarian diet, oh, about 15
years ago or so, it felt great and it made me feel so sure of myself and
the food choices I was making. No one could sway me from those choices.
No one could convince me that my choices weren't the healthiest ones a
human could make. My energy was boundless and my mind reeled with
new-found courage and conviction. Slowly degenerating, my health
started to fail on that diet. I eventually realized that I needed meat
in my diet. (thank you my Ayurvedic-trained friend for telling me so).

Well, look at me now. Fully omnivorous, healthy again and loving it.
And once again fully convinced that these Paleo choices are the only way
to be healthy.

I'm fairly certain that the choices of food change the way we think -
change our instincts and our tastes and cause us to eventually defend
those choices. Is there a hidden instinct in us that drives us to be
this way? Is this a survival tactic?

In retrospect I was certainly wrong about my vegetarian choice (for me).
Though I'm convinced that "paleo" is a perfect choice, I remember how
certain I was about vegetarianism. Only time will tell me whether I've
made a good choice in regimens this time.

It gives one pause to wonder at the marvelous human bodies we have and
the brains and body systems that rule us (or over-rule us).
