In contrast to this the Australian Government backed by the Australian
Medical Association has officially launched a public health warning against
low carb eating and Atkins in particular.

The Minister for Health has issued initial statements and they plan to
expand on these with news broadcasts, poster and pamphlet campaigns with
info to be distributed and displayed in doctors surgeries etc.

They are warning the Australian public that low carb is a dangerous 'fad'
and associated with heart disease, cancer and depression.

I wonder if the drop in US grain sales has scared the Australian government
into pre-empting the low carb phenomenon ?
