Maybe so,  but Davis alienated a large chunk of his party in a
pro-Democratic party state.  It was like Virginia in the last
gubernatorial election we had...   Most people vote Republican here, but
the Republican Party alienated the moderate votes, and Warner (a
moderate Dem) won
