I have spent the last few weeks researching gf dining in disney where I am
headed this Wednesday with my family, including my nine year old, extremely
sensitive celiac daughter. I was feeling pretty comfortable until I learned that
restaurants do not have waffle makers or griddles dedicated to gluten free
preparation. A chef at the Grand Floridian, where I scheduled a breakfast, told
me today that he is able to "clean off a part of the griddle" and that he
"prepares a batch of gf waffles, throws them out, and then serves the second
batch." I was also told that no restaurant in Disney has dedicated waffle irons or
pancake griddles. Has anyone eaten pancakes/waffles at the Grand Floridian or
at any other restaurant in Disney at become ill, or can I be comfortable with
their preparation?
Thank you,
Stacey Wolin
