Kathy Jo,

We have discussed this many times.  Yes it is possible. I know a lot of
people who have 24 hour care and they have their own apartments, and are in
charge of their own lives.  At the moment I would not recommend coming to
california because the budget crises is making things very tight  for those
of us with DD.

look up your local independent living center.
