Two points: First, I wanted to thank Ibby, Mike, John, and Stan for
responding to my plea for assistance. I haven't yet decided which program
to go with, though I did download a free 30-day trial of the latest CuteFTP
to see how accessible it might be; and from all I can tell, it seems to be
pretty accessible. I guess once the 30 days are up, I'll have to decide
what to do at that point. But I did want to thank these specific
individuals for taking the time to offer suggestions.
And this brings me to my other point: the possible dissolution of this
list. I have to chime in here and say how much I've appreciated the help
I've gotten through the members of this list over the years. While there
are other lists that serve pretty much the same purpose, they are not
nearly as well-moderated, and the traffic on them is way too much to
handle. I've appreciated the efforts of the list moderators and understand
their desire to move on; but I do urge them to respond to those who have
expressed an interest in taking over from them so that we don't lose the
list. And George - I think it was George - I'm all for making that switch
to freelists, if you're so inclined to take the switch on on your own.
Thanks again, everyone; and please don't let this list slip into oblivion.
Rachel
