Hi Keith,

Solutions to problems like your friendd's are best obtained by referring
to

http://support.microsoft.com

then searching the Knowledge base there in the customary ways. In this
case, the problem is a corrupted Inbox, and the proffered solution is
to: Rename the Inbox.mbx to Inbox.old. This can be done, with outlook
Express closed initially. Find Files & Folders, Inbox.mbx. Having
found it, hit F2 then rename it to Inbox.old. Enter. Open Outlook
Express which now creates a new Inbox. Attempting to retrieve old
messages, you could choose to rename your inbox.old to something else,
now that the Inbox has been restored. (.mbx was the old file extension
for versions previous to OE5 of Outlook Express and also Microsoft
Internet mail.)

Problem with an older computer I have a friend who is using an older
Windows 98 machine with JAWS 3.2. Yesterday evening she was compacting
her
email during a thunderstorm, and the computer rebooted - most likely due
to
lightning.

Now she can send, but cannot receive, email. She gets the following
error
message:

Error 0X80004005

She had a technician uninstall Outlook Express 4.72, then reinstall it -
all
to no avail. Any ideas as to what is going on?

Thanks.
