The problem here is that the files are not copied from the original disk
when you ask to copy them to the clipboard, but when you try and paste them.
What I would do would be to copy the files from the source floppy to
somewhere on your hard drive, and then copy them to the new floppy. In dos,
as I recall, you used to be able to do this as you would be prompted to
insert the destination floppy, but I don't know how to do it in windows.
Cheers.
Alex

Subject: [VICUG-L] cannot copy files from one floppy to another, why?

Hi all,
Well, I got another problem for all the experts out there.
I'm using a Dell 8100 laptop, running jfw 7.10, and a 1.6 meg processor,
running 512 meg of ram.
Here's the problem.
I open the first floppy and select all the files on it with ctrl+a, then I
copy them to the clipboard, then I get out of that and go back to the
desktop.
Then, I put in the new floppy I want to copy the files to, then go to my
computer, then I open the a drive, then the floppy is reado for me to copy
the files on, so, I press ctrl+v paste command and every time I try to do
it, I get this error message.
"cannot copy file: cannot read from the source file or disk. ok button"
Will someone tell me what the heck is going on here?
Did I do something wrong or what?
Harry
