Hi Michael,
If the new system has an EIDE port (some new systems from manufacturers
like Dell for instance don't have EIDE ports anymore, only SATA), a
physical slot to mount the disk, and a spare power connector for it, then
it should work fine. The SATA channels are separate channels from the EIDE
channels.
