You can get PCI cards that you can plug an ide drive into. Try Compusa,
Bestbuy, Newegg, etc.

Subject: [PCBUILD] hard drives and cables, basic pc options
Recently purchased an HP media center pc. Came with 2 optical drives and 1
SATA hard drive. Don't see any ability to use any of my older 80/120/160 GB
drives unless I do external storage since the SATA cable doesn't support IDE
and the only motherboard connectors are either SATA or for a floppy drive.
Any other options to add an older drive internally? There are spare power
connectors in the case, and assume power supply can handle it.
.
Also, looking for an inexpensive pc for my kids, HP/Compaq has a DX2000
business model for under $350 after rebate without monitor with 2.8 celeron,
sounds like I could have it delivered with the stock 40GB/5400 drive and
upgrade it myself to my larger drives. Am I correct in that ultra ATA will
connect with the standard IDE cables? Extra bays will let me reuse my
existing optical drives without the expense of buying new ones and I have
spare memory to replace the stock 256mb.
HP/Compaq doc:
Support all PIO modes
2 x IDE ports support up to 4 devices
Ultra ATA 33/66/100 (IDE1 black, IDE2 white)
