I'm on a fishing expedition...
All of the sudden, --- Black Screens...
(While using Outlook98 or MSIE6SP1.
I am "pretty sure" the computer freezes solid since
I don't seem to be able to "keyboard" my way out of
the problem blind... Three fingered salute does nothing...
Since about two or three Windows updates ago,
specifically, (as much as I can be), one dealing
with a new roll-up for Internet Explorer, I have had video
problems on two machines... They use the same
exact video card. It uses the ATI Rage Pro chipset...
This has been a problem for the ATI Rage chipset
for years, but I thought that problem was ironed out...
(I have never had this problem...)
There used to be a registry hack to turn off some features
of the ATI driver to help with this... I am not too
anxious to try that in XP-Pro since it was written for
an HP running Win 95 - 400M-CPU...
There are no new video drivers available for this card...
Any of this sound familar to anyone? (+Answers?)
