I, too, have recently installed an ultradma drive (WD6.4).\;
Pentium II with LX chipset, which supports udma.
My question is, if I have another non-udma drive on the
same channel (specifically a 540MB WD drive, mode 3),
will it keep the 6.4 drive from using the udma?
By comparison, we understand that a CDROM installed on
the same channel as a hard drive will reduce the hard drive's
performance. Will the same type of thing happen here????
With a 6.4 Gig drive, I do not **need** the 540MB drive, so
I would not hesitate to remove it. But if it does not harm
anything, I would like to keep it there...
