Could you expand on the above statement?... what exactly is lost in freezing?... any links about the subject?... 

As for chickens... left to their own devices, eating a completely natural diet, they would not be laying eggs daily... commercial chickens, even those  organic/biodynamic and pastured, are fed grains which apparently disrupt their hormonal balance, increasing their egg production.... in the wild, birds lay eggs seasonally not daily.
