Hi, all! The surgeon called me today to tell me that my breast lump is just a lymph node. Apparently, it's something that's been seen on my mammograms over the years, and I never knew about it. When I had my first mammogram several years ago, they had me come back for a re-test of one of my breasts (I can't even remember which one now), saying there was some kind of nodule showing. When I went back, they said it was smaller, and after that, I've always gotten word that every mammogram was "normal", so I just figured there was nothing there. But apparently they've been seeing density in that area of my breast, and just decided it was normal for me, but I was never told that, so just figured what they thought they saw the first time had gone or wasn't there. My doctor thinks maybe I can feel it now because I've lost about 30 pounds over the last year and a half. But she says it's the normal size for a lymph node, so there's nothing to worry about, so that's good news. She wants to see me in a month just to check it again, but it looks like everything's fine. Thanks to all of you for your prayers and good wishes and support.
Peggy
