My oldest sister is 62 years old. She has been a school teacher all of her
life. Our grandson, as well as all of my own children, have had her for a
kindergarten teacher. Saundra has been totally blind in one eye since she
was 17 years old. She has had retinal surgery several different times over
the years and nearly lost her vision in her good eye more than once. She
started her own Christian school about 15 years ago and last year, through
some very unchristian and politically motivated events, was forced out of
her own school by some people in the church who wanted the school for
themselves. Several families came and asked her to keep going for the sake
of their own children, including us, so she had her garage remodeled into a
one room school house. She had about 15 students the first year. My
grandson, Everett, went there, and my two younger grandsons are going to
started kindergarten with her next year, too. Saundra called me tonight
crying. It seems her good eye has been fading in and out recently. She is
having lots of pain right now, too, and she is afraid it is glaucoma. She
had it once before many years ago. My brother in law is 66 years old and
neither one of them are what you call in the best of health. They had to
drop their insurance recently because it was over 700 dollars a month. Due
to their health, they cannot be without insurance but they are without
insurance. They recently refinanced their home trying to get bills paid off
but their house payment is such now, I don't see how they will be able to
pay it each month. Saundra has an appointment with a specialist Monday at 8
o'clock. This is one of the first times my sister has ever called and asked
us to pray for her. She knew Friday nights was when our little prayer group
meets so that's why she called. So I am asking all of you to pray for her,
too. Thanks.

Phil.
