Hi Jerry,
You have to go into the menus to change it.  I did it for a short while.  I
didn't like it.  The programmable function is now the S meter button.  To
get the frequency, you must puts the enter key twice.  I have gotten the
MC57 microphone and one of the four programmable keys is assigned to the S
meter.  I hope this helps.  73.
