Oh, but of course! No clickety clacking relays, and it's very
smooth. You'll be able to hear between letters, but not between
individual code elements. Perfectly fine for my taste.

BTW John, don't knock the single conversion receiver. I've read more
than one account of K2's holding their own in field day situations
(for instance) with multiple higher-powered transceivers in very close
proximity...this little single-conversion (very hot) receiver didn't
overload like the others did, and it hears things that other radios
have trouble with. True, you give up general coverage, but what you
give up in general coverage receive is more than adequately made up
for in performance where it counts. Steak and hamburger, my friend. :)
Yes, it's not a cheap radio, but that also means it's not cheaply
made. It's no accident that it's compared favorably to rigs costing
twice as much, again in places where it counts. And I can't stress
enough that Elecraft is a company that actually gives a rip about us
and our needs...can't say that about the other companies, except maybe
Kenwood.
