The instructions for using the buddipole on various bands are given in color
codes, and they correspond with certain colors on the coils. The way to get
around that is to count grooves in the coils so you know where to put the
taps. This can be done, but the instructions have to be re-worked to
communicate the needed setting information.
I will point out, though, that Budd (W3FF) is very sensitive to this
concern, and has written up some instructions to get us in the ballpark for
the various settings.
He also has talked about the possibility of making a different type of coil
and tap arrangement for us to use.
I hope this helps a little.
The Buddipole is a great antenna system, that we can use with a bit if
inginuity and patience.
