Liz,

I think it's just the opposite, that the foods on the SLD are supposed to be
(by old research) *lower* in pyruvate, not higher.  That's what I remember
from Todd's posts.  And, iirc, it theoretically works by lowering pyruvate
in the tissues, since overfat people were believed to have an excess of
pyruvate.  --But maybe you should check the archives on this.

My one-week update is that I lost a total of 6.5 lbs.  Too bad it wasn't an
absurd 12 but--hey!--who's complainin'?!!  I'm pumped enough with success to
stay on it another week, maybe longer.  I attended a DAR meeting today and
nibbled around on the mostly paleo, but not SLD, salad.   I'll be interested
in what the scales say in the morning.
