I'll have to actually read the article but, not Christian sects believe we
have to suffer to be closer to god.  Many sects rejoice in the love they are
entitled to from.

As long as it's known we're not proselytizing, I'll step in and say a few
things... :)  I find the article very truthful about Christianity
being a faith for the sufferers.   I actually don't think Christianity
would be a faith for people who suffer with any of the other choices, and
therefore would be deemed irrelevant in today's world.

Having said that, I'm now going to say that I think Constamtine did the
church a major disservice by making Christianity the state faith.  It
creates an nationalistic attitude in many churches and Christians.
I've had to fight against this attitude in my own life ever since Gulf War
'91. Just when I think I put out one fire, "up she comes with another..."

Nationalism is the big boogey man for me, because Jesus was so much against
it.  I don't think I love my country any less than any other red blooded
American, I love my God much more.
