Dick,
Many thanks for this information. Unfortunately the book itself is not of
much use. It was copyrighted in 2000, and all references to software,
hardware and concepts is circa 1999 or earlier. The only versions of
Windows referenced at all are Windows 95, 98 and NT, and 95 gets most of
the attention. In addition, a large number of the vendors listed in the
appendices are no longer in business or have been merged with other
entities, and many of the assistive devices referenced are no longer
manufactured. Even taking the publication date into account, referring to
TeleSensory as manufacturing "cutting edge braille displays" is rather
silly, as they sold their braille products to FreedomScientific about the
time the book was being written, and they had not come up with anything
new int he braille display area for some years before that.
Perhaps this is why the book is now freely available - no one would buy it
now.
