Hi All--

Well, you wouldn't know it by my first post on this subject asking if charcoal or stone briquettes for grilling are GF, but I was a champion speller in elementary and high school. I'm surprised anyone who responded knew what a "bricket" was! My excuse is that this year's pollen is sticking to the neurons in my brain and there's just no juice up there!

Thanks to everyone who replied to my query. The consensus is that Kingsford is definitely NOT GF, and that the hard woods offer better taste and are GF - found at Walmart and other similar stores. The brickettes used in gas grills are lava or ceramic, so they should be okay.

Many people suggested I wrap my food in foil before putting it on the grill - don't get the grilled flavor, but it stays protected, no matter what. I was thinking that it might work to add a bit of liquid smoke to the meat before wrapping it in foil - last I knew, Wright's Liquid Smoke was GF.

Thanks, again. I think I must be getting gluten from the grates, so I'll probably use foil next time my family cooks out.

Cheers,
Ayn in Alabama
