I had the experience of eating a real wheat flour cookie(very large) that I thought was gluten free and did not have any reaction at all. I didnt know the cookie was wheat flour until about a week later. Long story about the confusion with the Victoria cookies here in Mpls.
Background: diagnosed by biopsy 3 yrs ago and have been on a very strict gluten free diet ever since. Have had 2 reactions(got sick) to accidental gluten from eating out. One the first yr and again about a yr later. Since then no problems.
I am wondering if this has ever happened to anyone? Most of the stories I read here are usually about those getting very sick with even the smallest ingestion of gluten. My episode makes me wonder if I should question my diagnosis. However, my eldest daughter ( 40) was just diagnosed celiac with a blood test. Any thoughts??
Don
