Thank you for your replies; I was 'floored' with the response I got...and
all of the care and concern. I probably should have explained a bit more
when I initially wrote: I have had Celiac Sprue and been on the g-free diet
for 15-18 years. I responded immediately to the diet and have done very
well, until a little over a year ago. I suddenly, seemingly, started on the
downhill spiral, having lost 55 pounds, most of it in the first 6
months--2-3 pounds every 2-3 weeks. (I have just lost another pound). The
loss continues, but slower. I had some vomiting, but so much stomach pain
and nausea that I could hardly eat. I have been on pureed meat and mashed
potatoes for months and now live on homemade turkey soup. I still have the
stomach pain and nausea...just not as severe as if attempted to eat more
solid food. With this, I have a very severe hypoglycemia that has been
well controlled, until now. But it is so severe, that I can have no
fruit/juice in my diet. I have never been able to tolerate it...I go into
a hypoglycemic reaction and have been known to pass out. Also, I am
lactose intolerant and soy intolerant, and very allergic to nuts. This
does not leave a whole lot left. At this point, my stomach is so raw, that
I can eat very few veggies, and only well
cooked--carrots! So....much of what was suggested I cannot
do..........but I do appreciate all you wrote

Many suggested various supplements, as well as treating more a
bacteria. (The Dr ruled all of that out.)
Many gave me names of books....which I will look into when I am not so
overwhelmed.
Some who wrote me still have no answers for themselves.
There were a few surviving on IV fluids (allowing the intestines to
rest)...some, for a number of years.
Several gave me names of Celiac Specialists across the country and one gave
me the name of one in Southern California, which is closest to me, in Alaska.
Probably the thing I heard the most, was "get help now".

And that is my plan. I will be seeing my local Dr...and have him talk to
the specialist in southern Calif so I can get down and be seen. I am
afraid...afraid of what I will find out. But, that is going to be my first
step.

Thank you, sincerely,

Linda block
