My condolences to the Peterson family. I'm sure he will be missed by the
Preservation family as well but it sounds as though he had a long, fruitful
and fullfilling life. Ruth

Charles Emil Peterson, founder of the Historic American Buildings Survey,
passed away peacefully last night at 9:30pm, following a routine day of
work. He was six days shy of his 98th birthday. Details on arrangements
and a memorial service will follow.
