Hi Severine,
the big problem with hand held scanners is that you must be able
to see well enough to track the scanner exactly over each and
every line of text you want to scan.
Unlike full page systems, these devices can not take a full page
image and 'parce' it up into lines, words and characters. They
must see each and every character.
Might help for some folks with pretty good vision but no help
for really low vision or totals.
This is exactly the same problem as exists with small hand held
bar code readers.
