The touch pad on my Dell laptop would react even if I brushed it with my
sleeve. Changing the sensitivity didn't seem to help so I wound up
disabling it.

Hi all. I too am using an HP notebook and had the same problems with the
touch pad. I haven't disabled it but am far more careful now that I know
what the problem is and no longer accidently press it.
Thx, Albert

Hi, I had a similar problem with my laptop. The touch pad is in a spot
where it can be easily touched and I realized I was touching the touch pad
without realizing it therefore putting myself in another window and also
sometimes opening other programs. If this is the same problem you could
disable the touch pad in the control panel, hope this helps, Judy
