Rachel,
You can actually play a dvd without going through the menus. It just
means you can't customize the settings for the various video and audio
options. Of course, one of those options that we as vlind folks would
like to select would be descriptive audio.

Subject: [VICUG-L] DVD's
Hi, everyone.
I guess I'm very behind the times on this one, but I admit to never
having used a DVD myself. I don't even own a DVD player.
So now I'm wondering how a blind person accesses DVDs? How can we tell
what the menu choices are and select the one we want - or, rather, maybe
I should be asking whether we even CAN access DVDs independently? I'm
assuming that menu options are not spoken.
Thanks for your thoughts.
Rachel
