Hello all, I have an interesting problem that I set aside for a while b/c of being rather busy but I'm taking it back up and looking for some advice. Anyway, I've had one DIMM of 512MB PC3200 SDRAM in my ASUS mobo and I purchased another. After installing following the ASUS diagram in the manual and booting up the computer in the Windows "properties" it there was no change. I then took out the old DIMM and put in the new one to see if that was the issue. It booted fine and was not a problem. I then put them both back in and one boot up went into the BIOS and it showed that I had 1024MB there, but booting up and going into Windows itself it still only shows 512, well 448 technically as I have 64MB onboard video. Anyway, Norton Sytem Utilities and any other program that reads RAM yields the same results, but using "ASUS Probe" it reads 448 RAM, but it shows that both of the DIMMS are in the sockets that I have them installed in. Anyway, I've tried all the various combinations that are possible within the confines of the mobo (it has 2 channels with 2 sockets per channel, but with PC3200 you can only use 1 DIMM per channel) and it all yields the same results. I'm convinced it's not a RAM issue since they both work individually and even more confused that the ASUS Probe displays 512 (-video) RAM yet shows the appropriate amount and type of RAM in the right sockets. It could be a pychological thing but it seems at times that it's acting faster than it was before I installed the second one, but then the are other times when it doesn't seem that way at all. Anyway, there it all is and I appreciate all the help I can get!!!
