Hrmm...

As a guess...if you have Norton and AVG running and if you have them
both set up to scan files whenever they are accessed, then you could
have the two of them working full time...for example...Norton looks at a
file you open, AVG sees the file is being accessed, so it scans the file
but then Norton sees the file is being accessed so it scans it again,
and then AVG sees the file is being accessed...you can see where I'm
headed with this.
It's a good idea to only have one resident virus scanner active at any time.
