I've checked two xp machines and can't find any reference to these files.
There are two things that would help to figure this out. Are there any file
extensions to these files? Are they like Cevts0.dll for instance? And have
you tried right clicking on the file and going to properties to see what you
could find out about the file? Such as an original name or something. The
truncated file name is what's causing the problem. Without knowing what is
behind the tilde it's hard to diagnose the problem.

Subject: [PCBUILD] Unknown file

After running Defrag I got the message that the files
~cevts0,~cevts1,~cevts0(12),etc (there were 6) on C:\ were fragmented and
could not defrag. What and where did these files come from, can I delete
them? I did move them to a folder on C: which didn't change anything. I did
a google search and couldn't find anything. Running XP Pro.
