I would like to share my current situation. I've recently moved out of
home, where my mum used to virtually force-feed me huge amounts of
food. It was mostly paleo, since thats what I asked for (well, as
paleo as excessive quantities of intensively-farmed food gets). Now
I'm living alone I've decided to eat all organic foods. The problem
is, I earn so little I can barely afford to feed myself an organic
paleo diet. (Maybe because I shop at Tesco...)

I am now eating a day- a few handfuls of mixed nuts (not organic- Tesco
don't do organic nuts as far as I know, but they do cheap mixed bags of
walnuts, brazils, pecans, hazelnuts and almonds -50p per 100g), one or
two eggs, a salad of lettuce, mushrooms and carrot (with some of the
nuts), a main meal of either organic meat or wild fish (about 250-300g
of whichever) with different veg (carrots, onion, parsnips, lettuce,
mushrooms), and some fruit at night. I haven't stopped to work out how
many calories this contains- I've never counted calories and have no
idea how. I'm pretty sure it is calorie-restricted. Is this enough to
sustain me (a fairly active 21yo male) over any length of time? And is
it good to drop my calorie intake so rapidly? (Not that I have much
choice without eating neolithic food).

I have to admit I feel somehow more satisfied after each meal now I'm
eating less. Perhaps this is because the food tastes much better. I'm
also getting over my compulsion to put food in my mouth (a
psychological thing I got off my mum). I haven't had any crippling
hunger pains... yet. When I was eating a lot of bread I could barely
go two hours before hunger rendered me incapable of doing anything.

Does anyone here eat a low-calorie diet (which I believe is quite
unusual among paleo eaters- I might be wrong)? How do you manage with
it? And does anyone know where I can get a wide ranger of (cheaper)
organic food than Tesco? They don't even do organic broccoli at my
local store (which I've seen at Somerfield).
