At long last, perhpas because of the arrest of a swede in Gambia, the
evening TV- news braodcast, Aktuellt, has made a mention of the murder
of Deyda Hydara which remains unresolved after nearly a year. The swede,
probably, a person with dual citizenship, had complained about the
unresolution of the brutal murder of journalist Deyda Hydara within
earshot of police officers, who propmtly arrested him.
I am sure there will be a rerun of the snippet during the 21.00 Hrs.
broadcast. Hopefully, Gambians in Sweden will join the chorus not just
of condemnation and expressions of outrage at the arrest of the NADD
leaders. But to initiate and participate in concrete, concerted action
to help bring political sanity into our tortured country.
