I supported the second part, not the first. But, we have been properly
chastised for pursuing this, so I guess I'll stop.
And forgive me for not reading into your caps the "official" modern version
of the diet :)

That's why I mentioned micro-evolution. A "better" duck (or cat), but not a
new one. ("Better" is not a good word in this context because of it's
subjectivity. But it will suffice for now :)
