Does anybody know why the ostrich is considered an unclean animal, other
than that it is listed as one in Leviticus 11? I know the pig is considered
unclean because it is a scavenger, they eat other dead pigs should there be
one, they have a one compartment stomach, etc., but I am having trouble
finding information on ostrich. What do they eat? Are they scavengers? Are
they disease bearing animals even after cooking the meat?

Any info is greatly appreciated. I love ostrich but want to avoid anything
that is not healthy for me.

Thanks,
Kristina
