well the two times in american history that there was
a feeling that the government was not responsive to
the will of the people came to a head in 1776 and then
in 1861. if most of the heartland got the idea that
calif, texas, florida, new york, and penn. were
electing the president, (ie: no electorial college)
then instead of general lee riding south with a sword
at his side, you'd have someone flying home with his
b1 bomber or apatche helio. anything left before the
ride home would be rendered useless in case of
sucession from the union.
