Just wanted to share an experience that I had while eating at Outback tonight...
The waitress was aware of the gluten free menu though she seemed to not understand it in detail, I explained somewhat and ordered my meal, during the middle of my dinner a friend of mine who happens to be employed there came out to the dining room and was surprised to see me as she was the one making the salads for the night and said that she was not aware that I was there ( as it is the only place that we frequently go to) that noone had told her to do gluten free salad, she is one that will always change her gloves when she has an order for a gluten free salad as to avoid contamination with the bread crumbs. I spoke to the manager about this and was offered another free salad coupon and so I explained that was not necessary and not the issue I just wanted her to know how important their restaurant participation is for us celiacs and that they are recommended for eating out on a gluten free menu. She apologized and said she would talk to the employees regarding this matter. I know we all take a chance when we eat out and just wanted to share my experience. Just be careful no matter where you eat. Karen
