So far, I've heard from several people willing to help and looking for direction, like me, plus
two Floridians who are managing o.k., including one with contacts with the local Red Cross,
and two gluten-free businesses willing to ship stuff....Manna from Anna and Gluten-Free Pantry.
I didn't have a chance to call our local Red Cross, but I will keep trying. My thinking is if the Florida Red Cross already has a celiac contact down there, if there was some way to get the word out, maybe we'll reach the people who need it most.
Once sad email: A couple with celiac opted not to evacuate rather than deal with celiac in the shelter. Luckily, they made out o.k., albeit....no electricity.
I'll let you know if there is anything we can do, and if you hear anything, send it to the list.
