We haven't had a potluck since last Thanksgiving, so you're probably as ready as I am for a delicious, gluten-free, homemade meal with your celiac friends. Join us and get the added benefit of a short talk by a physical therapist about the connections she is finding between celiac and therapy.

When: Friday, 7 May, at 7 pm
Where: Covenant Presbyterian Church, 211 Roleto Drive, Kitchen area

Speaker: Tish Rodriguez, Physical Therapist

Haven't been to one of our potlucks and not sure what to bring? Choose from one of your family favorites or try something new. We will need salads, entrees, vegetables, bread, and desserts. Our members enjoy everything from comfort food to gourmet treats--just bring something you will enjoy and I'm sure others will like it too. Don't forget, though, that some people have other sensitivities in addition to gluten. Please list all ingredients in your dish and place the list by the dish on the buffet counter.

If your potluck offering is original or has been adapted by you for celiac use (we can't use recipes as given in cookbooks) then provide me with a copy for the Recipes page of our newsletter. Be sure and include your name with the recipe and either send it to me by e-mail ([log in to unmask]) or hand it to me at the meeting.

If you are newly diagnosed or have never been to one of our meetings, let me encourage you to come. You will have questions about this "gluten-free" diet, and we will try to answer them.

Living Without Magazine is offering our members a special rate of $20 for a one year subscription. To get this 15% discount, bring your cash or check payable to Alamo Celiac to our meeting and sign up with me.

The San Antonio Celiac Support Group is part of Alamo Celiac, Chapter #65 of CSA/USA, Inc. Other support groups in Alamo Celiac are the Austin Celiac Support Association and Gluten-Free Gatherings of Corpus Christi.

If you are not yet a member of Alamo Celiac, we invite you to visit our Web site, www.alamoceliac.org, and click on the Join button. Then click on the first button on the Join page to get an Alamo Celiac Membership Form in PDF format that you can print and mail in with your check. Or you can bring cash or your check made payable to Alamo Celiac for $20 and join at the meeting.
