Hi Diane,

Try this: Go to Control Panel \ Internet Options and click the "Connections"
tab. There, select "Never dial a connection". Click "OK".

Subject: [PCBUILD] Something's asking to dial a connection

I'm on dsl, but sometimes when I go to a page, like the one noted below, I
get a Windows (I'm on xp home) dialogue that asks to dial another of my
connections, which I have listed as my 56 dialup modem (I was using it
before I used the dsl router
firewall). <http://freepctech.com/goodies/promotions.shtml>

What does that mean and how do I stop it?

thanks,
Diane
