You've told us about the card in your notebook, but nothing about the
wireless network you expect to be communicating with.  Can you elaborate?

  My suspicion is that you may be in an area of overlapping coverage --
perhaps a neighbor also has an 802.11g system.  I'm thinking that y, to/via
a network that you aren't authorized to use.
