Opposition warned against holding illegal rallies
Government has again warned members of the opposition against holding illegal rallies.
Responding to vows by the Uganda People's Congress (UPC) Presidential Policy Commission Chairman Dr. James Rwanyarare (right) to forcefully go ahead with their planned public activities, Information State Minister James Nsaba Buturo says the police is on stand by to disperse whichever group is doing so without registration.
In a related development, the Government Spokesman has criticised Rev. Grace Kaiso of Uganda Joint Christian Council (UJCC) for suggesting that the country could deteriorate into genocide.
Rev. Kaiso is reported to have said that creation of tribal militias would lead to tribal conflict.
On the political talks, Dr. Nsaba Buturo lashed out at the Group of 7 for making unrealistic demands.
