Vicki,
I agree with you! The important thing is our relationship with Jesus. Like
a marriage relationship, we have to communicate in order to keep the
relationship alive and healthy. We, at our church, are reading through the
Bible in a year. Though this is a regimented plan, it has been a big help
to me for not having to try to determine each day where I should read. I
admit that, sometimes, I am blessed more than at others and feel the
presence of the Lord more than other times. The important thing is that I
regularly meet with the Lord and we visit together. I was called on to
teach a class on prayer some five years ago. In preparation for the class,
I began a regular time of prayer and devotion each morning because I didn't
want to be ahipocrit in teaching the necessity of a regular time with the
Lord. It has been a big blessing to me and has drawn me much closer to the
Lord. No, we don't have to have a specific time or pattern of Bible study
but we must have a constant communication with the Lord. We must be in a
state of constant communication with the lord, "pray without ceasing. It is
much like DSL--being onli e at all times.
Praise the Lord that He loves us enough to give us that relationship with
Him.
Ned
