Hi, all. I'd like to ask your prayers for a friend of mine named
Dodie. I've known her since the 1970's, and even before I knew her, she
was battling depression. Over the years she's seen many doctors and
spiritual directors, and spent a lot of time asking God for help. All of
us who know her and love her have been trying to support her as best we
can. Recently she was hospitalized for a month or so, and put on different
medications by the doctors there, which gave her no relief. Now she's out,
but not in a place mentally or emotionally where she can return to her own
home, so she's living with some friends and attending an out-patient
group. But because she can't work, her insurance is being canceled in a
few days, and she won't even be able to get the psychiatric and medical
care she needs. I talked to a friend who's in touch with her a lot, who
says she's suicidal, just wanting the pain to end. This thing is bigger
than Dodie can handle, and it's certainly bigger than those of us who love
her can handle; but we know Who can handle it. So please join me in
lifting Dodie up in prayer, that she will get the help she needs.
Thanks.
Peggy
