Hi Lou:
Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner, but I haven't logged on in a couple
of days. I was supposed to be on vacation this week but my wife was hit by
a car on Friday and has some real knee problems because of that and so I had
to cancel my vacation.
Well, I didn't have any problem changing the batteries in the type and
speak. I did it as fast as I could so that I wouldn't loose anything. If
you can make a pack or get a new one, the type and speak is a nice unit, but
I don't think I would replace mine if I couldn't fix it myself. There was a
time when the specialized note takers were worth the price, but I have a
laptop here now and I think it can do all the things the note takers can do
and more. Also, laptops have come down in price and are less expensive than
most of the specialized note takers. If you don't need a vraille display, I
would go with the laptop, just my opinion. I don't know much about the
batteries in the new disk drives, so I can't help you on that one.

Thanks,

Tony McCloskey, Wa3CAO
