Hi Dave.
Lou, K2LKK here. I live in Rochester. The two best repeaters in the
Rochester area would be the 146.79 repeater in Henrietta with a -600 Khz
offset, and the 145.29 MHz repeater, on top of the Xerox tower, also with a
-600 MHz offset. These are both carrier access systems, and have wide
coverage.
Another good system is the N2HJD repeater system. It has a number of 2
meter and 70 cm ports. They all use 110.9 Hz PL. Here is a list:
146.325/146.925 MHz (this repeater also has a +600KHz offset for coverage
on the northern end of Rochester
144.81/145.41
147.99/147.39 (good on the west side of Rochester)
447.80/442.80 (good around Rochester)
447.90/442.90 (Good on the east side of Rochester)
449.70/444.70 (south of Rochester)
Another good system for the general region is the 144.51/145.11 repeater in
Bristol, NY. It also uses a 110.9 Hz PL.
The 449.85/444.85 MHz repeater is fairly popular around Rochester, and is
run by Tim WB2KAO, who is a blind ham. this repeater also uses a 110.9 Hz PL.
In the Batavia area, the 147.885/147.285 repeater is located in Batavia,
and uses a 141.3 Hz PL. Another good machine is the 144.85/145.45
repeater, which is located in Wethersfield, NY and uses a 141.3 Hz PL. It
is a wide coverage repeater.
Also, the 144.57/145.17 repeater is located in Wethersfield, and covers the
Batavia area. It is carrier access.
Also, the 144.89/145.49 MHz repeater gives good coverage from Batavia into
the Buffalo area, and has an 88.3 Hz PL.
That should give you a good start.
