Thomas Mayer, the key board also works on laptop. They were connected
via USB. Windows XP would load but it was locked up. did not try to
open in safe mode. Here is what i have done since first sign of
problem. The keyboard and optical mouse were connected thru D-Link 4
port external usb hub that was connected into the back usb port on
computer. Thinking that this port maybe 'bad', I tried to plug it into
one of three usb ports that i had installed internally in front of
computer. The computer recognized the keyboard and the mouse.
everything was fine for one day. i left pc on overnite and attempted to
access this morning, and computer was locked up. I changed to another
port in front and it started working again. I am afraid that there is
something internally that is not very stable. this
computer(motherboard) is app 5 yrs old. I have upgraded processor and
memory installed new cd burner, new floppy. I would like to try to
build me a new computer. I just ordered book from PC Mechanic to help
me. You will probably be hearing from me soon as i am sure i will have a
lot of questions. In the mean time, i will back up everything that i
need to save as pc is functioning at the present time. Thank you for
responding to problem.
