It could be that you needed a DDO (dynamic disk overlay), since
you had a problem around "the 8G size"...
Does it ever say anything about pressing a key to boot from a floppy?
(Or similar wording?)
I hope you did a full LONG format on the drive, and not the short
(less than five minutes) version... If it went VERY fast, I doubt if
"anything" looked at or tested each individual sector of the disk,
so you may not be out of the woods yet...
