Hi Butch;
Now that I was wide  awake I looked at the b & W web site and discovered
that the more expensive version was indeed stanless  steel.  I gather that
you haven't had difficulties with the copper wire version.
Briefly, how is your gap mounted?  How many support ropes did you use if
any?
